About us
KEIPhone is not just an advertising platform. We are a social enterprise that is working to bridge the digital gender divide by providing free smartphones and data to unconnected women. Smartphones are distributed with the KEIPhone app pre-installed that displays value ads on the lockscreens of the phones and rewards them for watching the content. The points can be redeemed as airtime, data or utility bill payments.
Our Impact Areas
Agriculture
Mobile phone use increases agricultural yields. Many farmers report increased profits and decreased costs and time investments of farming. Farmers with mobile phones who connect quicker with markets, achieve better prices, and receive agricultural information report increased yields.
Financial
KEIPhone gives women access to mobile money platforms which increases household resilience to shocks. Other benefits include access to formal financial services, mobile small sum savings, crowdsourced lending, and pay-as-you-go solar.
Health
Women are empowered to take on family health issues assured they are backed up by knowledgeable doctor apps. Women registered with the SmartHealth App in Uganda increased successful breastfeeding rates by 32%.
Education
Many learners in developing countries can now access quality educational media outside of the classroom. The possibility for online and social learning increases. Mobile communication in Africa enables teachers, parents, and learners to share.
